Mehrwert für Anwender und Orthopädietechniker durch einen digital unterstützten Patientenbewertungs- und Versorgungsprozess im Bereich der passiven Armprothesen

Description

For a new category of passive arm prostheses, we identified an opportunity to improve efficiency of the patient journey and realize the customization and fitting, if necessary, remotely. The orthopaedic technician takes pre-defined measures of the patient’s arm that are inserted into an online configurator, which serve to create a 3D printing file of a parametric shaft. During the pandemic we were forced to manage steps of our formative usability testing partially remotely. Our findings revealed that remote measure taking and fitting is generally possible with the system under investigation.
